Joint Health and Safety Committee Certification Training Program Standard

This training program standard will be reviewed by the Ministry of Labour (MOL) at least every five years.

This document sets out the standards a certification training program must meet in order to be approved by the Chief Prevention Officer (CPO).

CPO approval may be granted to those programs that meet the Training Program Standard after a successful assessment and review of a program that is submitted to the Ministry of Labour.

It is the responsibility of the workplace parties to ensure compliance with training requirements under the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA). In determining what rights or obligations a party may have under the legislation, reference should always be made to the official version of the Act and the regulations.
