What are the key new training requirements to become a certified member?

On October 1, 2015, the CPO established new training and other requirements a committee member must meet in order to become certified, that will be effective March 1, 2016.

The CPO may certify committee members who fulfill the following training and other requirements:

  • Part One and Part Two JHSC Training from a CPO approved training provider
  • Part Two Training must be completed within six months of completion of Part One Training
  • A one-time extension to the six-month time period between the completion of Part One and Part Two Training will be granted for a period of up to six months due to extenuating circumstances (i.e., personal, operational or health reasons)
  • Take Refresher Training every three years to maintain certification status, or may obtain a one-time exemption, for an active certified member, to maintain certification status
