Safe at Work Ontario
Safe At Work Ontario is a workplace health and safety program of the Ontario Ministry of Labour (MOL) designed to:
- improve the health and safety culture of workplaces,
- reduce workplace injuries and illness,
- lessen the burden on the health care system,
- save costs for employers and the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB), and
- provide a level playing field for compliant companies.
MOL’s website provides information about Safe At Work Ontario, including:
- criteria for identifying workplaces for proactive inspections,
- information about workplace inspection "blitzes",
- Ontario Ministry of Labour sector plans,
- Internal Responsibility System (IRS) explained,
- links to Ontario’s Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and related legislation, and
- view access to Canadian Standards Association (CSA) standards referenced in Ontario’s Occupational Health and Safety Act regulations.
