Tower Crane accidents can cause serious injuries or even death.
Workers / Crane Operators:
- Notify supervisor if crane malfunctions or is
not in good condition.
- Operators inspect and complete crane log
book every day.
- Avoid lifting load over any workers.
- Refuse unsafe work.
- Comply with duties under Occupational
Health and Safety Act and applicable
regulations.
Supervisors / Employers / Crane Owners:
- Ensure a record is kept of ALL inspections, testing, repairs,
modifications and maintenance of crane, including by
previous owner.
- Ensure crane inspections and maintenance is
recorded in log book.
- Ensure crane operated by qualified operator.
- STOP WORK immediately if crane malfunctions until
repaired by qualified person.
- Conduct regular crane load tests using a
“test block”.
- Comply with duties under Occupational
Health and Safety and applicable regulations.
