Racking and storage hazards can lead to serious injury
Workers:
- Work in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act and regulations
- Report hazards to your supervisor/employer
- Know your right to refuse unsafe work
- Report rack damage to your supervisor
- Operate forklifts in a safe manner
- Never place an unsecured load on a rack
Employers / Supervisors:
- Provide adequate supervision
- Provide required training to workers and
supervisors
- Install and select racking that is hazard-free
- Conduct regular maintenance and repair of
racks
- Ensure forklifts are appropriate for the tasks
and workplace
- Ensure adequate lighting, obstruction-free
aisles and well maintained pallets
