Worker injuries cost the homebuilding industry millions of dollars.

Workers:

1. Understand and follow health and safety requirements.
2. Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) as prescribed.
3. Cover floor openings securely, use fall protection and report fall hazards to your supervisor.
4. Ensure all vehicles, tools and equipment operated as per manufacturers’ instructions.
5. Reduce risk of back injury by using suitable lifting devices and equipment to move materials safely.
6. Comply with duties under Occupational Health and Safety Act and applicable regulations.

Constructors / Employers:

1. Provide ALL workers with appropriate training, information, instruction and supervision.
2. Establish and maintain comprehensive occupational health and safety program.
3. Ensure removal of garbage and debris from work areas as often as is needed to prevent hazards.
4. Ensure safe use and proper maintenance of equipment, materials and protective devices.
5. Take immediate action when informed of potentially hazardous situations.
6. Ensure everyone on site is age 16 or older.
7. Comply with duties under Occupational Health and Safety Act and applicable regulations.
