Worker injuries cost the homebuilding industry millions of dollars.
Workers:
- Understand and follow health and safety
requirements.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
as prescribed.
- Cover floor openings securely, use fall protection
and report fall hazards to your supervisor.
- Ensure all vehicles, tools and equipment operated as
per manufacturers’ instructions.
- Reduce risk of back injury by using suitable lifting
devices and equipment to move materials safely.
- Comply with duties under Occupational Health and
Safety Act and applicable regulations.
Constructors / Employers:
- Provide ALL workers with appropriate training, information,
instruction and supervision.
- Establish and maintain comprehensive occupational health and
safety program.
- Ensure removal of garbage and debris from work areas as often
as is needed to prevent hazards.
- Ensure safe use and proper maintenance of equipment,
materials and protective devices.
- Take immediate action when informed of potentially hazardous
situations.
- Ensure everyone on site is age 16 or older.
- Comply with duties under Occupational Health and Safety Act
and applicable regulations.
