Commercial divers can be seriously
injured or killed if proper procedures
aren’t in place.
Workers:
- Know your diving operations plan
- Know the emergency procedures in
your contingency plan
- Be prepared to respond to hazards at
underwater dive sites
- Be trained in administering first aid and
medical oxygen
- Report hazards to your supervisor
- Know your right to refuse unsafe work
Employers, Owners, Constructors
& Diving Supervisors:
- Prepare written operations and contingency plans
- Brief all dive site workers on plans
- Ensure effective communications between dive site
and emergency services
- Ensure diving personnel are properly trained
- Ensure dive site workers are trained to administer
oxygen to injured divers
- Ensure adequate oxygen supply in case of emergency
- Ensure first aid equipment can deliver 100% oxygen
