Access equipment accidents can cause serious injury or even death.
Employers / Supervisors:
- Provide access equipment most suitable for
the job
- Provide appropriate training to workers
- Ensure workers know emergency procedures
- Provide training for fall protection
- Ensure access equipment is properly
maintained
- Ensure all maintenance equipment records
are available for inspection
Workers:
- Use access equipment in a manner that
does not endanger any worker
- Use access equipment as per manufacturer’s
instructions
- Get adequate training on the use,
maintenance and storage of access
equipment
- Know your project’s emergency
procedures
- Wear prescribed fall protection
- Report hazards to supervisor/employer
and refuse unsafe work
