The latest issue of Safe At Work Ontario Today is now available. The November edition features information about inspection blitzes, new ministry resources for employers and workers, and more – all in an eye-catching publication.
Workers younger than 25 and new workers face a greater-than-average risk of injury. From May to August 2010, the ministry conducted an inspection blitz that focused on the health and safety of these workers at construction, industrial and health care workplaces. The blitz results are now available.
Ontario has launched a new toll-free number – 1-877-202-0008 – for the public to report workplace health and safety incidents or unsafe work practices.
Ontario is home to many diverse cultures and people, some of whom speak a non-official language. The ministry has produced many multilingual resources – including posters – to help Ontarians understand their rights and responsibilities at work.
